An oil diffuser, also known as an aromatherapy diffuser, sprays a light mist of essential oils throughout a room. This is a natural way to not only harmonize the mind, body, and spirit, but a natural way to scent your home. I use the Now Foods Ultrasonic Oil Diffuser. I like this diffuser because it is pretty cost effective, BPA free, has a rotating LED light, and automatically shuts off after 4 – 6 hours. Another major plus is that the ultrasonic oil diffuser is heat-free, which helps to maintain the integrity and healing properties of the essential oils.
Why I Stopped Using Candles
Environment & Physical Well Being
Scented candles produce soot. This black smoke is not good for your respiratory system, or the environment. The tiny particles that are found in soot have been linked to asthma, bronchitis, and coronary heart disease, among several other respiratory conditions. Additionally, the artificial fragrances in candles are loaded with lots of chemicals, and can even contain carcinogens.
Candles require a constant flame. Whenever you leave a flame unattended for an extended period of time, there is an increased risk of a fire. Therefore, oil diffusers are a safer way to scent your home.
A jar candle will cost you an estimated $20. Alternatively, an essential oil will cost you approximately $10. (Some of the oils like Ylang Ylang and Geranium are little higher.) Over time you will spend a lot less on scenting your home. Only a few drops need to be added to the diffuser with each use. The oils pictured below should last me the remainder of the 2016. Essential oils have a shelf life of about 1 year.If you want to improve your respiratory system, you should stop using candles. Click To Tweet
