Rose has been a longtime favorite ingredient of mine due to its anti-aging properties and ability to help fight off eczema and scarring. It also smells pretty darn good! As we approach the fall season, it is so important to start thinking about adding high-moisture products back into your skin care regimen. Hibiscus provides an intense boost of moisture. “How”, do you ask? Well, hibiscus contains a high amount of mucilage, a sticky substance secreted by the plant that helps the skin maintain its moisture. It’s also naturally rich in malic and citric acid which provide natural exfoliation and speed up cell turnover, which yields a more even skin tone. This high-performing face mist also contains coconut water, aloe vera and grapeseed oil, all known for reviving dull skin. I like to apply my toner before applying my moisturizer in the morning, and at night before bed.
Finding a truly all-natural deodorant with staying power has been one of my toughest challenges in my journey to non-toxic. Because breast cancer runs in my family, I refuse to use any deodorant that may contain questionable ingredients. Most deodorants contain aluminum (linked to breast cancer), talc (linked to ovarian cancer), and petrolatum (linked to respiratory and skin irritation, possible carcinogen). Alternatively, this deodorant contains kaolin clay which helps neutralize odor, extract impurities, and remove dead skin cells. It also contains arrowroot powder, a plant-based, anti-inflammatory ingredient that works to absorb sweat throughout the day. Don’t like lavender? This deodorant also comes in “Grapefruit Tangerine”, my personal fave.

*Notes on natural deodorant – diet plays a major role in combating unpleasant body odor. Help your deodorant help you by consuming lots of fruits, veggies, and water. Our lymph system is one of our primary detox pathways. If you consume junk, junk will surely come out of your armpits, which will result in stronger body odors.* 🙂
