During my time in Miami for the 2016 Seed Food and Wine Festival, I stayed at a boutique hotel called Circa 39 . Circa 39 was built in 1939 but has undergone a MAJOR renovation (hence the name). It’s also located at 3900 Collins Avenue, another cute detail.
I typically don’t like boutique hotels because in my previous experiences they have all appeared to be quite old and unappealing, even with renovations. However, Circa 39 truly exceeded my expectations. The hotel was very clean, had great customer service, and some pretty unique, modern, beachy-boho decor. It’s truly a hidden gem. The only downside is that they did not offer many plant-based food options, if any. Luckily, the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from lots of restaurants and shops.
I didn’t get to take a lot of photos of the interior of the hotel because I spent most of my time in their “Wunder Garden.” I guess you could say it swallowed me up. 🙂 This outdoor space in the middle of the property was so magical and I truly enjoyed the moment. To my surprise, the hotel played Maxwell and Erykah Badu pretty much everyday. (Two of my favorite artists.) Speakers were hidden throughout the trees and you could always hear birds happily chirping throughout the day. “Just bees and things and flowers.” The best part of it all was that it wasn’t overcrowded! I was able chill out here in peace for hours.

I would absolutely return to Circa 39. I have yet to be able to beat the combination of price, location, service, or vibes anywhere else in Miami Beach. Who knows, maybe someday somebody will prove me wrong.
