4C hair is the kinkiest of all the curly hair textures and arguably the most sensitive, making it extremely hard to retain length. Since 4C hair thrives with low manipulation, wash day can easily become an all day affair in fear of causing breakage. As a result, I often make my own hair care products. However, for those days when I’m feeling lazy Innersense Beauty is my top choice. Innersense is the cleanest and most high-performing line that I have tried to date.

One of my favorite things about this line is the scent. I have a lot of hair and I am very self-conscious about the way my hair smells. Rather than using parfum and other synthetic fragrances (which are known endocrine disruptors), Innersense uses essential oils and plant extracts. The plant sources of coconut, vanilla, orange peel oil and clary sage really blend together nicely to create a sweet, fresh scent. Innersense never uses harmful ingredients like sulfates, parabens or gluten and all of the products are cruelty-free and non-gmo. As someone who never had long hair until her late 20’s, hair care is very important to me. I would never recommend a product that I would not use myself. If you ever receive a product that you don’t love, Beauty Heroes will give you a refund.
