I’m sure many of you are wondering, what exactly is Indie Beauty Expo (IBE)? Well, simply put, IBE is an event that supports the growth and success of independent beauty, lifestyle, wellness entrepreneurs and their brands. While the focus is not solely on green beauty, tons of green beauty brands show up and represent because this event has such a strong emphasis on wellness. This year was my first time attending IBE.
I was so excited to listen in on the “An Inspired Conversation” panel to hear perspectives about the spiritual connection between health and beauty from Indie entrepreneurs. This panel was comprised of Jeannie Jarnot (Beauty Heroes), Amanda Chantal Bacon (Moon Juice), Tanja Gruber (max and me), May Lindstrom (May Lindstrom Skin), Josh Rosebrook (Josh Rosebrook) and Shiva Rose (The Local Rose).
I was invited to sit on IBE’s Indie Influencer Panel to discuss all the latest trends in beauty, lifestyle and wellness. During this discussion, we chatted with attendees about what it really takes to be a Digital Influencer, and answered questions from both brands and aspiring bloggers. The other panelists included Amanda Jo (The Organic Bunny), Amanda Reade (A Beautiful Pursuit), Jame Stone (Honestly Jamie) and Gabriella Volquartz (Lipstick and Wellness).

After we wrapped up the “An Inspired Conversation” and “Indie Influencer” Panels, I was able to walk around and check out some of the vendors.
I wasn’t able to catch this DJ’s name but she was a BOSS.
I loved the simple, clean packaging of this line.
I thought these face masks from Florapy were pretty cool. These are sheet masks made from coconut. I didn’t do a super deep dive into the ingredients so don’t go out and buy these yet! 🙂
Some of you know that I can’t use candles. I stopped by Village Common’s booth to check out their Environment Sprays.
I was secretly “fan-girling” inside over these two curly girls. The woman in the red dress is Brandie Gilliam, founder of Thoughtfully Magazine (who I just met the night before at Girls Night In, not realizing who she was!) and Natasha James, owner of Rawcells.
If you missed IBELA, there are still two more opportunities to attend. The next show is in Dallas, TX (May 9 – 11, 2017) and the last show of the year is in New York, NY (August 22 – 24, 2017). I highly recommend getting the VIP ticket because the VIP gift bag is ridiculous!
Also, if you sign up for IBE’s mailing list, they periodically send out discount codes for tickets, which makes it even more worthwhile. I’m considering attending IBE NYC so maybe I will get a chance to meet you in person! Be sure to leave me a comment below if you plan on attending. Chat with you soon.
