Wow. The energy in New York City (NYC) is like none other. This was my third time visiting NYC and I’m still exhausted typing this. People truly do not sleep. Nonetheless, this was such a fun event and a totally different vibe than Indie Beauty Expo (IBE) LA. This expo was much larger and much more crowded.

I paired this Knotted Cutout Dress with the Velvet Ruana Kimono, both from Anthropologie for this evening event.

Dana, Founder of Beneath Your Mask

Beneath Your Mask was by far my favorite booth. The color scheme and design was so chic! After talking online for several months, I finally had a chance to meet the founder Dana in person. If you haven’t read her incredible story, I highly suggest you read it right after you finish reading this post. For real! It is beyond inspiring and will encourage you to take more risks toward living your best life.

As you can see, a few others loved this booth, too. Pictured here (from left to right) is Monique of Brown Skin Green Beauty, Carron of The Holistic Honey, Jasmine of Laws of Nature Cosmetics, Nardia of Kaya Journey, Keisha of Keisha Adinkra and Dominique of Dominique Drakeford.

I also stopped by another one of my favorite brands, bkr. bkr sells eco-chic, re-usable glass jars covered in a silicone sleeve. bkr won’t alter the taste of your water and doesn’t filter chemicals like plastic. They are also vegan, dishwasher safe, hypoallergenic, cruelty-free, food safe, formulated without gluten and made responsibly.
